Ballet Party
For those who love to dance, the Ballet Party is a perfect way to encourage movement -- ballet style. The children will be sure to lace up their slippers (real or pretend) and put on their tutu for the Ballet Freeze Dance and Ballet Simon Says. Plus, get the children moving by playing Hot Potato with a ballet slipper or have a Tissue Paper Slipper Race. These games are fun for a range of ages and can be played inside or outside.
For crafts, create pretty ballerina picture frames. Children can put a Polaroid of themselves inside or, if you don’t have a Polaroid camera, take the pictures and mail them with your thank-you notes. No matter what activities you choose, set the mood with music from the Nutcracker or other ballets that children will recognize.
