Fun Car Party Ideas to Set the Mood

Use plenty of toy cars as decorations in the party area. Use a toy race track and Matchbox cars for a centerpiece. 

Fill your car birthday party with car balloons.

Place a plain, white paper tablecloth on the floor of the play area or across a table. Use black marker to draw roads going in different directions across the tablecloth. Add stop signs, yield signs, traffic lights, etc., using brightly-colored markers. Set a number of small toy cars and trucks on the road. During the party, you can also let your guests play on the road design.

Use chalk to draw a "road" on the driveway and/or sidewalk leading up to your door.

Use colored construction paper to make road signs and stop lights to hang throughout the party area—for example, "Yield for Fun," "Stop," "One Way," "Boys at Play," etc.

Bake your auto party cake in a car cake pan. Top your car birthday cake with car cake candles and serve on car cake plates.

Race Track Snacks

When it comes to food, partygoers are usually perfectly content to eat pizza or hotdogs, which is certainly much easier on the hosts!  However, if you have the time and would like to serve some car & truck themed snacks, consider these ideas:

• Use a round object (e.g. a cookie/biscuit cutter or the top of a glass) to cut out green, yellow, and red "Stop Light" Jell-O Jigglers.
• Frost graham crackers or other rectangular-shaped cookies with yellow icing, then add red, green, and yellow M&Ms to make stop light snacks.
• Bake a sheet cake, and frost it white. Use black gel frosting to draw a road around the cake. Place small toy cars on the road as cake toppers. In addition, you can purchase miniature road signs at your local hobby shop to add to the cake. You can also try our alternate Racetrack Cake idea.
