Set the Star Wars Party Mood
-
Start your party by setting the mood with music from Star Wars or Space Odyssey 2001 playing in the background.
-
Purchase glow in the dark star shapes, available at most toys stores, and put them on the ceiling or use them as balloon weights.
-
Hang a Star Wars banner across the party area.
-
Crumple up newspaper into large rock shapes. Secure shapes with masking tape and spray-paint silver to make asteroids. Set them throughout the party area.
-
Make moons by gluing dry beans or cereal in small circular patters to paper plates, them cover plates with aluminum foil. The beans form craters. Once made, hang them on the walls throughout the party area.
-
Gather your child’s or borrow other children’s Star Wars space ships to hang from the ceiling in the party area.
-
Place colored plastic over the lens of flashlights to project laser beams across the table.
- Purchase a Star Wars pinata for decoration and enterainment!
Jedi Party Food and Drinks
When it comes to food let’s start by saying that partygoers are usually perfectly content to eat pizza or hotdogs, and it is certainly much easier on the hosts! However, if you have the time, and would like to serve theme-related treats, we have a few suggestions.
-
Serve electric blue Kool-Aid or Mountain Dew for drinks colored like those served at the bar where Luke first finds Hans Solo.
- Make Death Star and Tatooine Sundaes! Place two round scoops of ice cream in a bowl, making one slightly larger than the other. Pour hot fudge over the smaller scoop for the Death Star and caramel topping over the larger scoop to resemble the landscape of Tatooine. Add streaks of red and green gel icing between the two scoops to simulate laser fire.
