Best for...

Kids ranging from ages three to 10 will enjoy a jungle animal party. Whether they want to be a safari explorer or a wild animal, your guests will have a “roaring” good time.

Party Planning

For peace of mind, begin planning your safari bash six to eight weeks in advance. This will allow you time to gather all the supplies that you need, including jungle party decorations, gifts, and menu items. Planning ahead also gives your guests time to RSVP and make travel plans, if needed. Don't panic if you find yourself short on time; you can still plan a great party! Planning ahead simply reduces the risk of conflicts with guests' plans and may increase your party’s attendance.

Use animal print stationary or card stock to create your own invitations. Write “Call of the Wild” on the front of the card and your party instructions inside. Alternatively, you can purchase personalized or pre-printed jungle party invitations online. We recommend mailing your invitations three to four weeks prior to the party—any sooner and your guests may forget, any later and your guests may already have plans.

To simplify the rest of the party planning process, check out our Party Planning Timeline, and read the paragraphs below for information on selecting jungle party supplies, jungle animal activities, jungle-themed party favors, and more for your child's party.

What You’ll Need

If you plan to use paper tableware and jungle animal party supplies, our Suggested Party Supply List may be quite helpful. Please note that you may not need everything on the list; it is intended only as a guide.

Jungle colors may include green, brown, tan, and yellow with splashes of blue, purple, and red for flowers and birds of paradise.

For animal party favors, look for animal-themed print or cellophane bags. Or, get creative and make your own animal-print bags from white and brown lunch bags. Simply draw on leopard spots and zebra stripes before filling them with small plastic jungle animals, animal crackers, animal stickers and temporary tattoos, plastic monkeys from a Barrel of Monkeys, Pez candies with animal heads, and jungle-themed candies. Many of these jungle party favors are available from Birthday in a Box.
