Kids' Spring Party

By Amanda Formaro

Spring is in the air! There's nothing like those little buds on the trees ... the extended hours of daylight ... the short-sleeved shirts you can finally wear again. And how better to celebrate than with these spring party themes.

Party Planning
For peace of mind, begin planning your springtime paty bash six to eight weeks in advance. This will allow you time to gather all the supplies that you need, including spring party decorations, gifts, and menu items. Planning ahead also gives your guests time to RSVP and make travel plans, if needed. Don't panic if you find yourself short on time; you can still plan a great party! Planning ahead simply reduces the risk of conflicts with guests' plans and may increase your party’s attendance.

Make Sunny Invitations
Fold white card stock or construction paper in half to form a card. Create a sun from yellow construction paper by cutting out a circle and several strips for sun rays. Glue the sun to front of the card. Add some grass and flowers using green crayons, markers, fun foam or construction paper. Or, if you’re short on time, you can purchase preprinted or custom, personalized spring party invitations with a spring theme

Decorating
Think colorful! Use yellow latex balloons that are filled with helium to represent sunshine, while tying green, pink, white, purple and blue balloons to the backs of chairs and taping them to the wall. These colors represent flowers and grass. Consider adding a few Mylar spring party balloons for added impact.

Make pretty butterfly decorations out of construction paper and tape them to the doors and walls as if they are flying around the room. Use our fun ladybug magnet as a guide for making larger ladybugs from construction paper or card stock. If desired, you can also hang a  personalized spring party banner to welcome your guests to your spring soiree!

Other festive ways to decorate might include silk flowers in colorful baskets, card stock flowers on the walls,  3-D spring party centerpieces on the table, and streamers in bright colors such as yellow, pink, green, purple and blue.
