Games To Play: As your guests arrive, have them play a guessing game. Fill a glass or plastic container with heart candy and have kids guess how many they think are inside. Have them write their name and guess secretly on a piece of paper and put it in a safe place until later. You can hand out small dollar store trinkets to everyone for playing and award the jar of candy to the child with the closest guess.

Everyone loves bingo! Just print out our fun Heart Bingo Cards and use candy hearts as the markers. Award small lollipops, mini candies or trinkets as prizes.

We've all enjoyed bean bag toss games so make your own festive version by cutting a heart-shaped hole out of the side of a cardboard box. Make your own bean bags by filling zipper sandwich bags with rice or dried beans. Reinforce the seal by taping it shut. You can also jazz them up by making simple felt pouches. Cut two identical squares of red, white or pink felt, and use pinking shears for a fun effect. Hot glue three sides together, then slide the bag of beans inside. Seal the final edge with hot glue and you'll have your own bean bags! If you're feeling really festive, instead of cutting squares, cut heart shapes from felt and follow the same guidelines. Have children toss three bean bags, trying to get them into the heart-shaped hole.

Have a Valentine's scavenger hunt, similar to the egg hunt you enjoy at Easter. Cut heart shapes out of red, white and pink construction paper. Cut only a couple red ones, several pink, and many white. Hide them around the house, making white more obvious than the pink, and hiding the red fairly well, depending on the age group of your guests. Each color has a different point level: one point for white, two for pink and three for red. Set a time limit and add up points at the end. You can award small prizes to everyone with a larger prize going to the one with the most points.

More! Don't miss these fun Valentine games and activities.

Goodie Bags: What party is complete without a goodie bag? Most dollar stores have holiday-themed clear bags made specifically for parties. Look for fun trinkets such as heart stickers, red pens and pencils, mini boxes of crayons, little plastic bracelets, heart-shaped sunglasses, lip balms and small candies. Tie the bag with red ribbon or yarn and hand them out as party guests head home.

Valentine's Day is a romantic holiday traditionally for grown ups that has blossomed into a fun and festive time for all ages. Don't forget to read about its history, find holiday-themed recipes and have fun!
